Details: Seeking a well-qualified Maintenance Technician for busy properties located in the Washington DC area.

Brief Job Description: The Maintenance Technician assists in ensuring that the physical aspects of the community meet the established standards for safety, appearance, and operates within the budgeted financial goals.

Primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

· Diagnoses and performs minor or routine maintenance or repair, as directed, involving the following on a daily basis: Electrical and plumbing, A/C and heating systems, appliances, stairs, gates, fences, patios, railings, tile, carpet, flooring, roofing, gutters, fasteners, interior/exterior lights, fireplaces, ceiling fans, shutters, doors, cabinets, windows, sliding glass doors, door locks, P.O. boxes and locks, ceiling leaks, walls.

· Manage the inventory of ready apartments to support the community marketing and leasing efforts.

· Complete the turn process and inspect ready apartments for move-in quality.

· Removes and transfers heavy appliances and equipment from storage area to apartment (or vice versa) as circumstances warrant.

· Assists in moving abandoned furniture, appliances, etc., to dumpster when necessary.

· Assists in keeping grounds neat and free of litter.

· Rakes, sweeps, shovels as circumstances warrant.

Qualifications: 1-2 years experience in a general maintenance position, experience in apartment maintenance preferred. Must have HVAC/CFC certification and able to work with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall/painting, and appliance repairs (please list all certifications on resume). Must have your own basic tools.

Compensation: $16-$18 per hour BOE

Normal Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. and will be placed on an on-call rotation for emergencies.

Possess the ability to pass and hold a security clearance background check up to a Q clearance. HS diploma/GED or any combination of experience/education to equal graduation from the 12th grade, and 6 month recent, relevant experience in commercial custodial or maintenance services. Some knowledge of equipment and chemicals used; i.e. scrubbers, Billy Goat blowers, vacuums, snow-blowers and EZ-Go. Ability to interact effectively and positively with employees with disabilities required. Some knowledge of general cleaning products and equipment required. Lifting 20-50 pounds frequently. EOE.

Compensation: $18.33/hour

Hours: 5:00pm-11:00pm
